Privacy policy
KeyStrong collects no personal information of any kind. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no third-party SDKs and no network connection. Nothing you generate or paste into the app ever leaves your Mac.
The sections below say the same thing at the length lawyers and app reviewers prefer.
1. Who we are
KeyStrong is developed and published by Jerome Coloma ("we", "us"). Contact for any privacy matter: keystrongapp@tallbottech.com.au. This policy covers the KeyStrong macOS application and this website.
2. Information we collect
None. We do not collect, receive, transmit, process, store, sell or share any personal information, usage data, device identifiers, diagnostics or analytics. This is not a policy commitment we could quietly reverse in an update: the application ships without network entitlements, so it is technically incapable of sending data anywhere.
Specifically, we do not collect your name, email address, IP address, location, contacts, advertising identifiers, device fingerprint, or any passwords, passphrases, keys, tokens or other values you generate, paste or analyse in the app.
3. Data held on your device
The app stores your preferences - password length, character sets, appearance, clipboard timeout, keyboard shortcut - locally in the macOS application sandbox. These preferences contain no personal information and are removed when you uninstall the app.
Generated values and session history are held in volatile memory only for as long as the app is running. They are not written to disk, the Keychain, iCloud, or any log, and they are discarded when you quit.
4. Clipboard
When you copy a value, it is placed on the macOS pasteboard, marked as transient so that macOS excludes it from Universal Clipboard sharing with your other devices. The app clears the pasteboard after the interval you set in Settings, and only if the pasteboard still holds the value it placed there. We do not read pasteboard contents put there by anything else.
5. Third parties
The app bundles no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting libraries, and makes no calls to any third-party service. No data is disclosed to any third party because no data exists to disclose.
6. Purchases and the App Store
KeyStrong is sold through the Mac App Store. Your purchase, payment details and receipt are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we never see your payment information or your identity. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymised sales and territory reports that cannot identify individual customers. If you contact Apple for a refund or download history, that interaction is between you and Apple.
7. This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no third-party trackers or fonts served from external hosts. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP address and requested URL, for security and reliability; these logs are retained briefly and are not used to profile visitors.
8. Email you send us
If you email support, we hold your message and address for as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of the issue. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share your message. Ask us to delete the correspondence and we will.
9. Children
KeyStrong is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children under 13.
10. Your rights
Privacy law in various jurisdictions - including the Australian Privacy Act, the GDPR and the CCPA - gives you rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal information a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to access, correct, delete or export. Any support correspondence you have sent us is the only exception, and we will delete it on request.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it and the previous version remains available on request. Should a future version of KeyStrong ever require a network connection for a feature, that change will be described here and in the release notes before the version ships, and the feature will be optional.
12. Contact
Questions, complaints or corrections: keystrongapp@tallbottech.com.au. We answer privacy enquiries within five business days.
